Best Milk Frothers of 2026: 8 Models Compared

8 milk frothers, from 80 g wands to 6-in-1 electric jugs

  • 16models shortlisted
  • 8models compared
  • 4weighted criteria

450 watts and 6000 rpm are the strongest motor figures among the 8 milk frothers compared here, and they put the Ecoflarix 350 ml first with 8.0 out of 10. The jug also holds milk between 65 and 70°C (149 to 158°F). A one-year warranty comes with it. Five electric jugs and three handhelds from the Amazon range are ranked on frothing performance, features, build and handling, working from manufacturer data and specifications. The Keurig SimpleCafe is the value pick, the New England Stories wand the budget pick and the Priksia 6-in-1 the premium pick. An entry-class wand is enough for a quick latte; a jug warms milk and makes cold foam at the push of a button.

Key takeaways

  • Ecoflarix wins (8.0): 450 W, 6000 rpm, temperature control at 65–70°C (149–158°F), under 55 dB and a 1-year warranty.
  • Five are electric jugs; three are handheld. Stated frothing volumes run from 3.9 to 6.1 fl oz (115 to 180 ml).
  • Five are hand wash only; Instant Pot, Keurig and PARIS RHÔNE list dishwasher-safe care. Only Ecoflarix and Bonsenkitchen state a warranty.

  1. Comparison winnerComparison score · data-based comparison, no hands-on test

Rank 1: Ecoflarix 350 ml Electric Milk Frother (4-in-1)

Brand: Ecoflarix Price level Price level 3 of 4

Comparison winner: 450 W, 6000 rpm, temperature control, hot and cold foam and a 1-year warranty.

    Ideal for

Daily latte makers who want a strong jug with controlled milk temperature

Strongest motor, most complete jug package: that is why the Ecoflarix takes first place. The listing gives 450 watts and 6000 rpm, a foam time of 120 seconds, up to 180 ml of foam from a 350 ml jug, and four functions that cover hot and cold foam. Temperature control holds the milk between 65 and 70°C (149 to 158°F). The stainless steel interior has a non-stick coating, and noise is stated at under 55 dB. It ships with two whisks and a cleaning brush, switches itself off automatically and carries a one-year warranty. The costs are practical: hand wash only, a corded power base, and at 1.6 pounds more counter space than a wand needs.

    Pros

    • 450 W, 6000 rpm, 120-second foam
    • Temperature control at 65–70°C
    • Under 55 dB, auto shut-off
    • Two whisks and cleaning brush, 1-year warranty

  2. Rank 2: Instant Pot 4-in-1 Milk Frother & Steamer

Brand: Instant Pot Price level Price level 3 of 4

    Two-button jug with four programs, 500 W, a cool-touch exterior and dishwasher-safe care.

    Ideal for

Households that want easy operation and a jug that goes in the dishwasher

Two buttons do the work on the Instant Pot, which makes it the simplest of the electric jugs to live with. They start four programs from a 500-watt base: cold foam, a lighter warm foam, a denser warm foam and plain warm milk. The 10-ounce jug comes with a side handle and a pouring spout, the exterior stays cool to the touch, the interior is non-stick and the care line says dishwasher safe. The listing also suggests uses beyond coffee, such as hot chocolate and matcha. No warranty period, temperature range or noise level is stated. That leaves it with a shorter list of specifications than the Ecoflarix, and its plastic body is a step below stainless steel interiors.

    Pros

    • Four programs from two buttons
    • 500 W, cool-touch exterior
    • Handle and spout, non-stick interior

  3. Premium pickComparison score · data-based comparison, no hands-on test

Rank 3: Priksia 6-in-1 Electric Milk Frother

Brand: Priksia Price level Price level 4 of 4

Premium pick: six modes on a touch display and up to 14.2 fl oz heated, but contradictory listing data.

    Ideal for

Households that want one jug for foam, hot chocolate and yogurt

Six modes on an LCD touch display make Priksia the feature-heavy premium pick: warm airy foam, warm dense foam, cold foam, heated milk, hot chocolate and yogurt. The jug heats up to 420 ml (14.2 fluid ounces) of milk or froths up to 160 ml. The interior is non-stick coated stainless steel, operation is described as low-noise and the unit shuts off automatically. The listing is inconsistent, though. The specification table gives 12 ounces for capacity against 14.2 ounces in the text, and the listed dimensions read like a handheld whisk. It is hand wash only, and the top price class means the details deserve a second look.

    Pros

    • Six modes incl. hot chocolate and yogurt
    • Heats up to 420 ml, froths up to 160 ml
    • LCD touch display, auto shut-off
    • Non-stick stainless steel interior

  4. Rank 4: PARIS RHÔNE Electric Milk Steamer and Frother

Brand: PARIS RHÔNE Price level Price level 4 of 4

Eiffel-shaped 240 ml jug with 400 W, four functions, Strix temperature control and LED indicators.

    Ideal for

Smaller households that want a jug that doubles as a counter piece

Its silhouette is modeled on the Eiffel Tower, and the PARIS RHÔNE is the design-led jug of the group. The specifications are a 240 ml capacity, 400 watts and four functions covering hot and cold foam, chosen with one button and shown on LED indicators. The listing cites Strix temperature control, ETL certification and automatic switch-off, and the interior has a food-grade non-stick coating that can be rinsed under running water. Froth takes about two minutes, and the care line says dishwasher safe. The weaker points: the top price class, no warranty or noise level, a metal body whose weight is not given and no stated foam volume. That makes it harder to compare with the Ecoflarix.

    Pros

    • 400 W, four functions, LED indicators
    • Strix temperature control, auto shut-off
    • Non-stick interior, dishwasher safe

  5. Best valueComparison score · data-based comparison, no hands-on test

Rank 5: Keurig SimpleCafe Rechargeable Frother

Brand: Keurig Price level Price level 2 of 4

Value pick: a USB-rechargeable handheld with a 12 fl oz cup, froth presets and dishwasher-safe parts.

    Ideal for

Coffee drinkers who want presets and an easy-clean handheld system

A cup changes the handheld: the Keurig SimpleCafe pairs a rechargeable frother with a 12-fluid-ounce microwave-safe frothing cup that the listing says enables hands-free frothing and precise measuring. That more guided system earns the value award. Presets for latte and cappuccino froth and a manual mode are listed, along with hot and cold foam and an included USB charging cable. Dishwasher-safe care for the cup and whisk sets it apart from the other handhelds. Its limits: the body is plastic, no wattage, speed or warranty is given, and it does not heat milk by itself as the electric jugs do.

    Pros

    • Presets for latte and cappuccino, manual mode
    • 12 fl oz microwave-safe cup

  6. Rank 6: SIMPLETASTE 4-in-1 Electric Milk Frother

Brand: SIMPLETASTE Price level Price level 3 of 4

Tap-controlled jug that warms 8.2 fl oz or froths 3.9 fl oz, with auto shut-off, but hand wash only.

    Ideal for

Small batches of warm foam when you want one-button control

Tapping runs SIMPLETASTE, a four-mode jug: one tap starts dense warm foam, two taps airy warm foam, three taps heat the milk and four taps make cold foam. It warms up to 240 ml (8.2 fluid ounces) or froths up to 115 ml (3.9 fluid ounces). That 115 ml frothing limit is the smallest stated in this comparison. Milk is heated to approximately 150°F, and milk above 3 percent fat is advised for better results. Automatic shut-off, a scratch-resistant, non-stick interior and a detachable base are listed. It is hand wash only and weighs 1.8 pounds, and no warranty or noise level is given.

    Pros

    • Four tap-controlled modes
    • Warms 240 ml, froths 115 ml
    • Auto shut-off, detachable base
    • Non-stick, scratch-resistant interior

  7. Budget pickComparison score · data-based comparison, no hands-on test

Rank 7: New England Stories Rechargeable Frother Wand

Brand: New England Stories Price level Price level 1 of 4

Budget pick: a stainless steel wand that charges over USB, with a dual-spring whisk and travel cover.

    Ideal for

Travel, office and desk use where a light wand is enough

Of the two plain wands, the New England Stories is the better one, and it is the budget pick. It charges over USB, the cable is included, and one charge lasts for months, according to the listing. The stainless steel body weighs 80 grams, and a dual-spring whisk and a travel cover come with it. The wand is described as working with dairy and plant-based milks. No wattage, speed or frothing time is given, so nothing shows how it compares on performance, and it is hand wash only. Like any wand, it froths milk you have warmed separately instead of heating it, so it suits drinkers who already have a kettle or microwave to hand.

  8. Rank 8: Bonsenkitchen Handheld Milk Frother

Brand: Bonsenkitchen Price level Price level 1 of 4

Basic battery wand: 10 W motor and a stainless whisk, but batteries are not included.

    Ideal for

Occasional use when you only want a quick, simple wand

Batteries are not included with Bonsenkitchen, the basic battery wand of the group, and it needs two. The 10-watt motor drives a whisk of stainless steel mounted on a BPA-free shaft, and the listing promises froth within 15 to 20 seconds. At 80 grams and 9.4 inches it is easy to carry. Beyond that, the data is minimal: a plastic body, hand wash only, a one-button design and a 12-month warranty. It has no stand, cover or charging option. It ranks last for features and for performance data, though it is the only wand with a stated warranty.

    Pros

    • 10 W motor, froth in 15–20 seconds
    • 80 g and 9.4 in, easy to carry
    • 12-month warranty

Buying guide: what to look for in milk frothers

How to choose a milk frother

A milk frother whips air into milk and, on some models, heats it first. The eight models here split into five electric jugs on a base and three handhelds. Their listings differ in how much they state about power, volume and temperature, and several leave gaps. For a latte without an espresso machine, our step-by-step answer shows where the frother comes in.

Handheld wand or electric jug

A wand is the smallest and simplest option: you warm the milk yourself, put the whisk in and press a button. Bonsenkitchen and New England Stories are plain wands, and the Keurig SimpleCafe adds a microwave-safe frothing cup and presets. An electric jug does the whole job in a closed container. That means less splashing and more consistent results, but it takes counter space and usually belongs to a higher price class. In this set the three handhelds fall in the entry and lower mid-range price classes, and the five jugs in the upper mid-range and top classes.

Power, speed and froth volume

Stated power runs from 10 watts for Bonsenkitchen to 450 watts for Ecoflarix and 500 watts for the Instant Pot, with PARIS RHÔNE at 400 watts. Only Ecoflarix gives a motor speed (6000 rpm) and a foam time (120 seconds). PARIS RHÔNE says about two minutes, and Bonsenkitchen promises froth in 15 to 20 seconds.

Volume figures are uneven. Ecoflarix foams up to 180 ml, Priksia up to 160 ml and SIMPLETASTE up to 115 ml, while Instant Pot, PARIS RHÔNE and Keurig list only a total capacity. Plan on one or two cups at a time, because jugs froth less than they heat.

Temperature and programs

Heating separates the jugs from the wands. Ecoflarix lists temperature control between 65 and 70°C (149 to 158°F), PARIS RHÔNE cites Strix temperature control, and SIMPLETASTE heats milk to about 150°F. Programs differ. Instant Pot runs cold foam, a lighter and a denser warm foam and plain warm milk; SIMPLETASTE offers four modes on a tap button; Priksia has six modes including hot chocolate and yogurt. Cold foam is listed for all five jugs and for the Keurig.

Noise, safety and materials

Only Ecoflarix quotes a noise level (under 55 dB), though Priksia and PARIS RHÔNE call their operation quiet. Automatic shut-off is listed for Ecoflarix, Priksia, PARIS RHÔNE and SIMPLETASTE. Interiors are non-stick on the jugs, with stainless steel noted for Ecoflarix (SUS304) and Priksia. PARIS RHÔNE cites ETL certification. That is the listing’s statement, not something we verified.

Cleaning and care

Check the care line first. Five models are hand wash only: Bonsenkitchen, New England Stories, Ecoflarix, Priksia and SIMPLETASTE. Instant Pot and PARIS RHÔNE are listed with dishwasher-safe care, while on the Keurig the cup and whisk are the dishwasher-safe parts. Rinse the whisk or jug right after use, because dried milk is harder to remove, and never immerse a powered base in water.

Power source and warranty

Two wands charge over USB (New England Stories, Keurig), Bonsenkitchen uses two batteries that are not included, and the jugs use a corded base. Only Ecoflarix (one year) and Bonsenkitchen (12 months) state a warranty period; the other listings give none.

Which milk frother suits which kitchen?

  • Daily lattes and cappuccinos: Ecoflarix for strength and temperature control, Instant Pot for easy operation. Either one can top coffee from stovetop moka pots.
  • Hot chocolate, yogurt and other drinks: Priksia, with six modes.
  • Small households with a design eye: PARIS RHÔNE.
  • Travel and desk use: New England Stories or Keurig, both rechargeable.
  • An occasional quick froth: Bonsenkitchen, if you keep batteries at hand.

Mistakes to avoid with a milk frother

  • The wands in this set froth milk you have already warmed. Only the jugs list heating.
  • Five of the eight are hand wash only, and the care line is easy to overlook.
  • Frothing volume is smaller than heating volume, so stay below the lower figure when you want foam.
  • Milk matters as much as the machine: SIMPLETASTE advises more than 3 percent fat, and non-dairy milks behave differently.
  • When a listing contradicts itself, as Priksia does on capacity, confirm the figure with the seller or the manual.

Using and caring for a milk frother

Start with cold milk, fill to the marked line and run the program. With a wand, hold it just below the surface at first and lower it as the foam builds. Clean the whisk or jug immediately and dry it.

Foam is only half of a good coffee. Our manual coffee grinder comparison covers the beans, and coffee scales that time the brew help you repeat a recipe. The breakfast counter checklist puts frothing at step 3 and adds grinding, weighing and blending. Our hub for everyday kitchen helpers collects every comparison in this area.

What the data cannot tell you

Nothing in the data describes the texture of the foam or how evenly milk heats, and only one model quotes a decibel level for noise. Foam quality depends on the milk, its temperature and your technique as much as on the machine, and non-dairy milks behave differently from dairy. The ranking narrows the field by power, programs, capacity, cleaning rules and warranty. The rest is a matter of taste and habit.

How the frothers were scored

No frother was switched on for this page. Published figures, accessory lists and price class are all the ranking uses. The set of 8 was picked from 15 candidates, and each model is scored against the rest. Frothing performance carries 35% of the weight and features and versatility add 25%. Handling and care brings 20%, and another 20% goes to build quality and materials. Weighted together, the criteria give a score on a 10-point scale. A missing figure is not estimated, and the model earns less credit. The details are laid out in our ranking method.

Frequently asked questions

Should I buy a handheld wand or an electric jug?

Buy a jug if you want the milk heated for you, a wand if you are happy to warm it separately. The wands here, Bonsenkitchen, New England Stories and the Keurig, froth milk that you warm yourself, while the five jugs list heating and several list cold foam too. Wands are smaller and belong to lower price classes. Jugs take counter space but run a program at the press of a button. For one latte a day, either route works.

Which milks work in these frothers?

Dairy and plant-based milks both appear. The New England Stories names dairy, almond, oat and soy milk, and the Keurig and Priksia mention dairy alternatives or non-dairy milk. SIMPLETASTE recommends milk above 3 percent fat. Plant-based milks depend on the brand, so treat these statements as the makers’ guidance. Fresh, cold milk gives foam the best chance of staying stable.

Which of these frothers make cold foam?

Ecoflarix, Instant Pot, Priksia, PARIS RHÔNE and SIMPLETASTE list cold foam among their programs, and the Keurig is described as a hot and cold foam maker. The two plain wands do not mention it in the data we have, although a wand can whisk cold milk too. For iced coffee, a jug with its own cold foam program is the more convenient route.

Are milk frothers dishwasher safe?

Only some are. Instant Pot and PARIS RHÔNE are listed with dishwasher-safe care, while on the Keurig the cup and whisk are the dishwasher-safe parts. Bonsenkitchen, New England Stories, Ecoflarix, Priksia and SIMPLETASTE are hand wash only. Never put a powered base or a wand’s motor housing in water or the dishwasher, even if the whisk or jug can be washed.

How much milk can I froth at once?

Less than the jug’s total capacity. Ecoflarix lists up to 180 ml of foam from a 350 ml jug, Priksia up to 160 ml (heating up to 420 ml) and SIMPLETASTE 115 ml (warming up to 240 ml). Instant Pot lists 10 ounces in total and PARIS RHÔNE 240 ml, without a foam limit. For two cups, check the lower froth figure first.

Did you physically use these frothers?

No. None of these frothers was switched on for this page, and no foam was measured in a lab. The ranking is built from manufacturer specifications, accessory lists and price class, with each frother set against the other seven. Criteria are marked from 0 to 10 and weighted, and a missing figure is never guessed. The scoring section above has the details.
