Privacy policy

Updated: October 30, 2026

Effective date: October 18, 2026.

This policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit Komparilo and which rights you have. In short: we set no cookies, run no tracking and embed no advertising or analytics services.

1. Who is responsible

Florian Schneller (operator of Komparilo)
Vogelberg 6
86399 Bobingen
Germany
Privacy requests: contact@komparilo.com

The operator is established in Germany, in the European Union. The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) therefore governs the processing described here, including for visitors located in the United States.

2. Hosting

Komparilo is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM - Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. The provider stores and processes the data generated when pages are requested only on our behalf and on our instructions, under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).

3. Server log files

Whenever a page is requested, your browser automatically sends information that the server records in log files:

  • your IP address, shortened
  • date and time of the request
  • the page or file requested and the amount of data transferred
  • the HTTP status code
  • browser type and version and your operating system
  • the page you came from (referrer), if your browser sends it

We need this data to deliver the website, to detect faults and to fend off attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure and stable operation of the site. The data is not combined with other sources. Log files are deleted after seven days at most, unless a specific security incident requires us to keep them longer.

4. No cookies and no tracking

Komparilo sets no cookies for visitors and stores nothing in your browser (such as local storage). We use no analytics or advertising services, no social media plugins, no embedded videos or maps, and we load no fonts from third-party servers. A consent banner is therefore unnecessary. Komparilo has no comment or rating features. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising.

5. California Do Not Track disclosures

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. We do not track visitors over time or across other websites, so there is nothing to switch off, and our behavior is the same whether or not your browser sends the signal. No third party collects personally identifiable information about your online activities on this site, with one technical exception: when product images load from Amazon’s servers, Amazon receives your IP address (see section 6).

For California residents and anyone else who asks: the only categories of personal information we handle are the shortened IP address and technical request data in server logs, and the contact details and message content you choose to email us. The only third parties involved are our hosting provider, which acts as our processor, and Amazon, as described below. You can ask us at any time to review or correct the information we hold about you.

6. Product images from Amazon

Your browser loads some product images directly from Amazon’s servers. In the process, your browser necessarily transmits your IP address and general browser information to Amazon. We load images this way because the rules of the Amazon Associates program do not allow us to store and serve them ourselves. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is a clear presentation of the compared products. Amazon processes this data under its own responsibility, and its privacy notice has the details. Products without an available image are shown with a neutral placeholder.

Our purchase links lead to amazon.com and contain an affiliate identifier. As long as you don’t click one of these links, no data is passed to Amazon through them; the image requests described in section 6 are the only exception. If you click, you move to Amazon’s website, where Amazon processes your data under its own responsibility and may set cookies or use similar technologies to attribute a purchase to the link. We set no cookies, pixels or comparable technologies ourselves. Amazon gives us only aggregated reports about clicks and sales, from which you can’t be identified.

8. Contact by email

If you write to us, we process your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is answering your inquiry. When the matter is closed we delete the data, unless a legal retention duty requires otherwise.

9. Where your data is processed

Our website is hosted by a provider in Germany, and we do not transfer your data to countries outside the European Economic Area ourselves. If you load images from Amazon or follow a link to Amazon, Amazon may process data about you under its own responsibility, including outside the EU.

10. Children

Komparilo is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Your rights

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). Where processing rests on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21). A short email to contact@komparilo.com is enough to exercise any of these rights or to review and correct what we hold about you.

12. Supervisory authority

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for Komparilo is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.

13. Automated decisions

We make no automated individual decisions and create no profiles within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. You are not obliged to provide personal data to us; without the technical connection data, however, the website cannot be displayed.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this policy and the effective date at the top of this page.
