Mandoline Slicers Compared (2026): The 8 Best

8 slicers, from 5.6 oz handhelds to a 16.5-inch frame model

  • 16models shortlisted
  • 8models compared
  • 4weighted criteria

A thickness dial with 12 slice settings sets the Gramercy apart in this comparison of 8 mandoline slicers, and the guard, gloves, brush and food holder in the box carry it to the top spot, 8.5 out of 10. The Benriner is the value pick and the Fullstar the budget pick. The field covers two full-size frames, a compact dial slicer, a board with a catch container and four handhelds from the Amazon range. The scoring draws on the makers’ own data and specifications and weighs cutting performance, features, build and handling. The choice is between a wide thickness range with several blades and a light tool that is easy to store.

Key takeaways

  • Gramercy wins: a 12-setting dial, rotating blade cylinder, stainless frame, plus guard, gloves, brush and holder.
  • Benriner lists the widest dial range (0.5–8 mm) with three julienne blades; Fullstar adds a lifetime warranty.
  • Six of eight list a guard, holder or lock; OXO and AQEENURA list none, so plan how you will hold the food.

Rank 1: Gramercy Mandoline Slicer with 12 Slice Settings

Brand: Gramercy Kitchen Company Price level Price level 3 of 4

Comparison winner: 12-setting thickness dial, rotating blade cylinder, stainless frame and a full safety kit.

    Ideal for

Cooks who slice often and want one full-size tool with guard, gloves and holder

The Gramercy is the most complete frame mandoline in this comparison, and also the biggest: 16.5 by 6.7 by 3.2 inches and 1.9 pounds. That takes real drawer space. In return a built-in dial runs from paper-thin to thick-cut across 12 slice settings, and a rotating blade cylinder changes the cutting style without swapping parts. The blade is 4CR15 stainless steel, 4.5 inches long, set in a stainless steel frame with a non-slip base and anti-slip feet. The box adds a removable blade guard, safety gloves, a veggie holder and a cleaning brush, and the listing allows the dishwasher’s top rack. No warranty term is stated, and it sits in the third of four price classes.

    Pros

    • 12 slice settings on one thickness dial
    • Guard, gloves, holder and brush included
    • Stainless steel frame and 4CR15 blade
    • Listed as top-rack dishwasher safe

    Cons

Rank 2: Benriner BN-64W Mandoline Slicer with 4 Blades

Brand: Benriner Price level Price level 3 of 4

Value pick: dial from 0.5 to 8 mm, a fixed straight blade and three interchangeable julienne blades.

    Ideal for

Cooks who want wide thickness control plus julienne and fry cuts

The widest thickness range in the set belongs to the Benriner BN-64W: an easy-turn dial runs from 0.5 to 8 millimeters. It comes with a fixed straight blade plus three interchangeable julienne blades in coarse, medium and fine tooth sizes, enough for chips, hash browns and garnishes as well as flat slices. The blades are described as handcrafted Japanese stainless steel, set in a BPA-free plastic body with a non-skid rubber base and a 2.5-inch-wide slicing surface. A guard keeps fingers back from smaller pieces, and the slicer hooks onto a bowl to catch what it cuts. The weight is 346 grams (12.2 oz), the size about 12.6 by 4.7 by 1.6 inches. The spec sheet says hand wash only, no warranty information is given, and the body is plastic rather than steel.

    Pros

    • Dial range of 0.5 to 8 mm, the widest listed
    • Straight blade plus three julienne blades
    • Hooks onto a bowl; non-skid rubber base
    • Light at 12.2 oz (346 g)

Rank 3: Fullstar Handheld Mandoline Slicer & Julienne Cutter

Brand: Fullstar Price level Price level 1 of 4

Budget pick: handheld with four thickness settings, a julienne blade, a steel-tipped guard and a lifetime warranty.

    Ideal for

Small kitchens that want a dishwasher-safe handheld with julienne cuts

Among the handhelds the Fullstar is the most capable, and it is the only model whose listing names a lifetime warranty. Four thickness settings (1, 2, 3 and 4 millimeters) and a separate julienne blade let one compact tool cover flat slices and matchstick strips. The blades are 420J stainless steel, and the finger guard has stainless steel tips. At 12.4 by 3.8 by 1.8 inches and 12.3 ounces (0.35 kg) it stores easily, and anti-slip and rust-resistant features, BPA-free construction and dishwasher-safe care are also listed. The settings stop at 4 millimeters, so thick-cut slices are out of reach, and what the lifetime warranty covers is not spelled out. On price, it belongs to the entry class.

    Pros

    • Four settings (1–4 mm) plus a julienne blade
    • 420J stainless blades, steel-tipped finger guard

  4. Rank 4: BINGBING Mandoline Slicer

Brand: -BINGBING- Price level Price level 2 of 4

Frame mandoline with slice, julienne, waffle and fry cuts, a safety lock, gloves, pusher and brush.

    Ideal for

Cooks who want fry and waffle cuts from a full-size stainless deck

Cut variety is the BINGBING’s selling point. This full-size frame slicer has a stainless steel deck and a curved blade, and its listing names slices, julienne, waffle and French-fry cuts that can be switched without touching the blades. A safety lock comes with gloves, a pusher for the food and a brush for cleaning, and a silicone wrap on the base grips flat surfaces. The spec sheet lists dishwasher-safe care. Two gaps hold it behind the Gramercy: no thickness values or number of settings, and no warranty. It is also big, at 16 by 6 by 5 inches and 2 pounds. The maker says the gloves offer limited help only, so the pusher does the real work.

    Pros

    • Slice, julienne, waffle and fry cuts listed
    • Safety lock, pusher, gloves and brush included
    • Stainless steel deck, silicone-wrapped base
    • Dishwasher safe per the spec sheet

  5. Rank 5: Ourokhome Mandolin Slicer with 6 Blades

Brand: Ourokhome Price level Price level 1 of 4

Board-style slicer with six interchangeable blades, a 2 L catch container and a hand protector.

    Ideal for

Meal-preppers who want many blade types and an included catch tray

Accessories are the Ourokhome’s edge. This board-style slicer comes with six interchangeable blades kept in a storage box, a catch container that holds 2 liters (about 2.1 quarts) and carries a measuring scale, and a hand protector. Among the blades are 2 mm and 4 mm slicing blades, and the listing names cheese as well as vegetables. By accessory count that makes it the best-equipped model in the set. The cost is that thickness comes from swapping blades rather than turning a dial, and the body is plastic with stainless steel blades. At 10.2 by 5.2 by 4.2 inches and 1.7 pounds it stays compact. Care is mixed, with some parts dishwasher safe and the rest hand wash, and there is no warranty information.

    Pros

    • Six interchangeable blades in a storage box
    • 2 L catch container with a measuring scale
    • Hand protector and cleaning brush included
    • Listed for cheese as well as vegetables

  6. Rank 6: OXO Good Grips Handheld Mandoline Slicer

Brand: OXO Price level Price level 2 of 4

Light handheld with three settings (1, 2.5, 4 mm), a viewing window and a dishwasher-safe stainless build.

    Ideal for

Occasional slicers who want a light, simple tool that hooks over a bowl

Simplest and lightest in the set: the OXO Good Grips weighs 0.16 kg (5.6 oz). It offers three thickness settings (1, 2.5 and 4 millimeters), a large non-slip handle and a stable foot. The foot lets it slice straight onto a plate, sit on a board or hang from the rim of a bowl, and a small window shows how much you have cut. The body is stainless steel and dishwasher safe, and the listing quotes a satisfaction guarantee with replacement or refund. The limits are plain: no julienne blade or guard appears in the listing, and the settings stop at 4 millimeters. It has the best handling in the set, but the narrow range and missing extras cost it points elsewhere.

    Pros

    • Lightest in the set: 5.6 oz (0.16 kg)
    • Settings of 1, 2.5 and 4 mm
    • Hooks over a bowl; viewing window
    • Stainless steel, dishwasher safe

  7. Rank 7: Ibergrif Handheld Mandoline Slicer

Brand: Ibergrif Price level Price level 1 of 4

Handheld with three settings (1, 2, 4 mm), a food holder and a safety lock; not for very large root vegetables.

    Ideal for

Small-kitchen meal prep: potatoes, onions, cucumbers, apples

The Ibergrif is a plain handheld built from polypropylene and stainless steel, with three thickness settings (1, 2 and 4 millimeters), a food holder and a safety lock that secures the blade during storage and cleaning. It needs no assembly and handles potatoes, carrots, onions, zucchini, cucumbers, apples and kiwis, according to the listing. One limit comes from the listing itself: very large, hard root vegetables are outside what the slicer was designed for. At 0.32 kg (11.3 oz) and 14.1 inches in its longest dimension it is light and easy to put away. The data gives no cleaning instructions, no warranty and no extra blades. That keeps it behind the OXO and the Fullstar.

    Pros

    • Safety lock for storage and cleaning
    • Food holder included; no assembly
    • Settings of 1, 2 and 4 mm

  8. Rank 8: AQEENURA Multi Handheld Mandoline Slicer

Brand: AQEENURA Price level Price level 1 of 4

Bare-bones handheld with 1, 2 and 3 mm settings and a stainless blade; the listing is sparse.

    Ideal for

Occasional slicing when a basic, light handheld is enough

The AQEENURA is the most basic model in the comparison: three thickness settings (1, 2 and 3 millimeters), a stainless steel blade, 0.24 kg (8.5 oz) and hand wash only care. Beyond that the data thins out. The slicer is the only item in the box, so no guard, holder or extra blade appears, and the dimension field reads 1 by 1 by 1 inch, which looks like a placeholder. The description says it suits beginners and also works for cheese and cucumbers, but gives no warranty. For a tool with a sharp blade, the missing safety extras outweigh the low weight.

    Pros

    • Three thickness settings (1, 2, 3 mm)
    • Stainless steel; light at 8.5 oz (0.24 kg)

    Cons

    • No guard, holder or extras listed

Buying guide: what to look for in mandoline slicers

What to look for in a mandoline slicer

A mandoline pushes food across a fixed blade so that every slice comes out the same thickness. The eight models compared here do that in four different ways: two full-size frames, a compact dial slicer, a board with a catch container and four handhelds. The body style decides how much range you get, how safely you can work and how much space the tool takes up.

Body style: frame, dial slicer, container or handheld

The Gramercy and the BINGBING are full-size frame models, 16.5 and 16 inches long, with a base that keeps them steady on the counter. The Benriner is a slimmer dial slicer of 12.6 inches that hooks onto a bowl, and the Ourokhome is a compact board of 10.2 inches that collects slices in a 2 L catch container. The four handhelds (OXO, Fullstar, Ibergrif and AQEENURA) are small handle-style tools weighing between 5.6 and 12.3 ounces. They store easily but offer fewer settings and fewer accessories than the frame models.

Thickness range and settings

Thickness is the main reason to own a mandoline, and the range varies widely. The Benriner’s dial runs from 0.5 to 8 millimeters, the widest range here. The Gramercy offers 12 slice settings from paper-thin to thick-cut, though no millimeter values are given.

The handhelds work in fixed steps: Fullstar has 1, 2, 3 and 4 millimeters, AQEENURA 1, 2 and 3, Ibergrif 1, 2 and 4, and OXO 1, 2.5 and 4. None goes beyond 4 millimeters, which suits salads and cucumber slices better than thick-cut chips. The Ourokhome changes thickness by swapping blades, with 2 mm and 4 mm slicing blades among its six. The BINGBING is listed as adjustable, again without numbers.

Blades and cut styles

The Benriner combines a fixed straight blade with three interchangeable julienne blades in coarse, medium and fine tooth sizes, and the Fullstar adds one julienne blade for matchstick strips. The BINGBING lists slices, julienne, waffle and French-fry cuts, while the Gramercy switches cutting styles with a rotating blade cylinder. The Ourokhome has the longest blade list: six blades in a storage box. The OXO, Ibergrif and AQEENURA describe slicing only. For fries, garnishes or strips, check that the blades are actually listed before you buy.

Safety: guards, holders and gloves

The Gramercy includes a blade guard, a veggie holder and safety gloves, and the BINGBING lists a safety lock, gloves and a food pusher. The Ourokhome comes with a hand protector, the Fullstar has a finger guard with stainless steel tips, the Benriner has a guard for smaller pieces, and the Ibergrif lists a food holder and a lock for storage and cleaning. The OXO and AQEENURA name no guard or holder. Treat gloves as a backup rather than protection: the BINGBING maker itself says its gloves offer limited help only and points users to the pusher.

Build quality and materials

Blade steel and body material are the main durability clues. The Gramercy pairs a 4CR15 stainless steel blade with a stainless steel frame, the Fullstar uses 420J stainless steel, and the Benriner lists handcrafted Japanese stainless steel blades in a BPA-free plastic body. The OXO, BINGBING and AQEENURA are listed as stainless steel, while the Ourokhome and Ibergrif combine plastic with stainless steel. Warranty data is thin. The Fullstar lists a lifetime warranty and the OXO a satisfaction guarantee with replacement or refund; the other six name none.

Size, cleaning and storage

Lengths run from 10.2 inches (Ourokhome) to 16.5 inches (Gramercy), and weights from 5.6 ounces (OXO) to 2 pounds (BINGBING), so a frame model needs a long drawer or a hook. Cleaning guidance differs as well. The Gramercy, BINGBING, OXO and Fullstar are listed as dishwasher safe, the Benriner and AQEENURA as hand wash only, and the Ourokhome as dishwasher safe for some parts with the rest washed by hand. The Ibergrif gives no care instruction.

Which mandoline slicer suits which kitchen?

  • For frequent slicing with one full-size tool, take the Gramercy, with 12 settings and a full safety kit.
  • Julienne, fries and the widest thickness range point to the Benriner, with a 0.5–8 mm dial and three julienne blades.
  • A compact handheld that covers the basics and strips: the Fullstar, with four settings, a julienne blade and a lifetime warranty.
  • For fry, waffle and julienne cuts on a frame, there is the BINGBING.
  • Meal prep with many blades and a catch container suits the Ourokhome. Slice the vegetables here, then blend the soup with one of the immersion blenders for soups we compared.
  • The OXO is the lightest and simplest tool, if 4 millimeters is thick enough.
  • For occasional slicing on a tight budget, pick the Ibergrif, or the AQEENURA only if its thin listing does not worry you.

Buying mistakes to avoid

  • Counting settings is no substitute for reading the range: 12 settings on the Gramercy and four on the Fullstar say little until you know the millimeters, and the BINGBING lists none.
  • Gloves are not protection, so use the holder or pusher every time, even when gloves are in the box.
  • A 16-inch, 2-pound frame is a different commitment from a handheld that fits in a drawer, so skip it if you slice rarely.
  • Read the limits a maker sets: the Ibergrif listing itself excludes very large, hard root vegetables.
  • Hand wash only, as on the Benriner and AQEENURA, means a few minutes at the sink after every use, and the blades then need a place to dry, such as one of the dish drying racks we compared.

Using a mandoline safely and getting more from it

Set the slicer on a stable, dry surface or over a bowl, and push the food with the holder or pusher instead of your fingertips. Stop when the piece gets too small to hold safely; the last slice is not worth it. Keep the guard on or the lock closed when you wash and store the blade, and rinse it right after use before starch dries on the steel.

The rest of your slicing is knife work, so the knife sharpeners compared are the natural next stop. Our quick-fix checklist for kitchen tools covers other small jobs, from drying and opening to sharpening and brewing, and the Kitchen category has more everyday kitchen helpers.

How we scored the eight slicers

We never handled these slicers. Maker data, spec sheets, box contents and the price class are what the scores come from, starting with 16 candidates and keeping 8. Every model is rated against the rest of the set. Cutting performance carries 35% of the score, ahead of features and versatility at 25%. Build quality and materials count for 20%, handling and care for another 20%. The weighted total is the final score, out of 10. A detail the listing leaves out earns no credit, and nothing is guessed. Criteria and weights are laid out in our ranking method.

Frequently asked questions

How thick should I slice for different dishes?

Thin cuts of 1 to 2 millimeters suit salads, cucumbers and quick pickles; 3 to 4 millimeters works for roasting or layered bakes. Anything thicker needs a wide dial. Only the Benriner (up to 8 mm) and the Gramercy (a thick-cut setting listed without a value) go beyond the handhelds here, because every handheld stops at 4 millimeters or less.

Are mandoline slicers dangerous to use?

They can be, since the blade is always exposed. The Gramercy, BINGBING, Ourokhome, Fullstar, Benriner and Ibergrif list a guard, holder, pusher or lock; the OXO and AQEENURA name none. Gloves are only a backup, as the BINGBING maker says its gloves give limited help. Push food with the holder every time and stop before the last small piece.

Is a frame mandoline better than a handheld?

Not automatically. The Gramercy and BINGBING bring stability, more cut styles and bigger safety kits, but they are 16 inches long and weigh about 2 pounds. Handhelds such as the Fullstar or OXO weigh 12.3 and 5.6 ounces and fit a drawer, yet their settings top out at 4 millimeters. For a few salads a week a handheld is enough; for frequent batch prep a frame is easier to control.

Can I put a mandoline slicer in the dishwasher?

For four of them, yes: the Gramercy (top rack), BINGBING, OXO and Fullstar are listed as dishwasher safe. The Benriner and AQEENURA are hand wash only, and the Ourokhome has some dishwasher-safe parts while the rest go by hand. The Ibergrif gives no care instruction, so follow the maker’s advice and keep the guard or lock on while washing.

How close are the Gramercy and the Benriner?

Very close: 8.5 against 8.4 out of 10. The Gramercy leads on features and build, with its guard, gloves, holder, brush and stainless frame. The Benriner leads on performance, thanks to the widest dial range (0.5–8 mm) and three julienne blades. It also weighs only 12.2 ounces against 1.9 pounds and sits one price class lower, but the body is plastic and care is hand wash only.

Did you physically use these slicers?

No. We handled none of the eight slicers and ran no lab tests. Rankings come from what makers publish, meaning specs, what ships in the box and the price class, and a missing detail is never guessed. Each of the four criteria gets a 0 to 10 score, and the weights combine them. The scoring section at the end of this page shows how.
